Updates Continue

The other day I uploaded patch 1.04 and I noticed that I have not been keeping up with my blog posts here. I knew I was a bit behind but wow!

I wanted to really tighten up the anti-repetition filters but I only have so much time. Getting the fixes and patches uploaded quickly seemed to be the bigger priority. Anti-repetition filtering can be a great thing but it can also mean it’s harder to get the full breadth of available questions unless you turn it off altogether.

New Project: Code name Triad

I’ve been considering making a new action RPG sub-genre. It might be a bit niche or a forced play style, but in my mind, it’s a whole different kind of game, perhaps worth playing. Creating it will require a lot of people, but I can mock up a demonstration of how it would work, given a little time. It could be a kickstarter or investor-driven project.

Action RPG has a lot of “boilerplate” or existing code that can be repurposed for this genre. Plenty of customizing would be needed but I think overall the genre probably has some really robust frameworks to choose from and even blend and mix. I have to study the target repos, and then come up with a flowchart that contains the boilerplate code with the rest of the structure as I conceptualize it, and then turn it all into a coherent collection of scripts.

New GPU, New Trailer

I revised the Epimythos trailer on Steam. Actually I had done so weeks ago in preparation for leaving Early Access but my old R9 270X was inserting artifacting into the final render every time. The card was nearly 11 years old, and it was time for it to go. Once I got the new card installed, rendering the trailer was a breeze and actually working on it was easier too. So I made some much needed improvements before finalizing what I had.
