Beta Pre-release Notice

Pre-release?

This beta is a pre-release build, available to a small group of testers ahead of the full public release (second weekend in July). You’ll be among the first to experience the core game modes, visuals, transitions, and mythology content. This is not a finished product — but it’s close.

If you notice anything strange, inconsistent, broken, or just plain awkward — I want to hear about it.

✅ What’s In the Build

  • Three game modes: Speed, Discovery, and Verbose
  • Hundreds of quiz questions drawn from classical Greek mythology
    • 376 Speed, Discovery questions
    • 134 Verbose (Illustrated) questions with back story
  • Start menu with a basic Options menu and transition systems, including polished “Round Complete” and conclusion screens
    • Discovery mode’s transition is basically how I want it to look.
  • Achievement system (not fully integrated, see below)
  • Improved input handling and audio/visual polish
    • Arrow key navigation, definitely try it when bug hunting
  • New layout for high score boards (in development)

⚠ Known Issues

Please don’t report these — they’re already being worked on:

  • Verbose and Speed Mode conclusion screens are first-generation and not as polished as Discovery Mode (which uses the new standard)
  • Font styles vary, and some UI elements may not match consistently
  • Achievements may appear, but they are not yet linked to Steam and cannot be reviewed in-game
    • To integrate with Steam, I just have to create 20 achievement icons and then add the API calls to my code. Trying to make nice icons takes time.
  • Leaderboards are not yet implemented
  • Various minor UI inconsistencies or placeholder visuals may still exist
  • There is no Chronological order option. None of the modes present questions in chronological order, but I plan to add that functionality in the coming months.

📌 During the Beta

I plan to:

  • Integrate Steam-linked achievements
  • Add leaderboards
  • Improve UI consistency and polish
  • Add a few more mythology questions
  • Continue iterating on graphics and visual clarity

Expect frequent updates, especially in the first two weeks.

📝 Feedback Guidelines

Please report:

  • Typos, spelling errors, or text inconsistencies
  • UI bugs or layout issues
  • Game-breaking bugs or anything that prevents progression
  • Moments where things feel “off” — even if you’re not sure why

Even small feedback is welcome — it all helps.
